AMOJ Meets at Senator Edwards Office

AMOJ has been invited to visit next week the office of Senator John Edwards in order to discuss our concerns about the federal judiciary. Senator Edwards is a Democrat from North Carolina. He has expressed particular displeasure with the 4th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and its chief judge, Judge Wilkinson.

The following is an excerpt from Senator Edwards' Oct. 3, 2000 comments during the nomination of James A. Teilborg, of Arizona, to be US District Judge For The District Of Arizona

'... the Fourth Circuit issues more one sentence opinions than any Federal circuit court in the country. Litigants come before it and make their case. Instead of getting a reasoned decision about why they won or lost their case, they get one sentence. What does that tell them about how much attention in fact is being paid to their case?'
